🎓 Year 0–2: Training
After clearing UPSC IFoS exam, candidates undergo training at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun. Training includes forestry science, wildlife management, environmental law, and field exercises.
🌳 Year 2–4: Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF)
Initial field posting. Assists in forest protection, conservation planning, and enforcement of forest laws.
🏞 Year 4–9: Divisional Forest Officer (DFO)
Heads a forest division. Responsible for wildlife protection, anti-poaching operations, afforestation, and forest resource management.
🌿 Year 9–14: Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF)
Supervises multiple forest divisions and coordinates conservation programs at regional level.

Leads forest circles and plays a major role in policy execution and environmental planning.
🌟 Year 18–25: Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF)

High-level administrative role with policy supervision responsibilities.
🏆 Year 30+: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF)
Highest-ranking forest officer in a state. Heads the entire state forest department.
🏅 35+ Years: Director General of Forests (Government of India)
Top national-level forest officer under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
